Web 2.0 Alliance the hottest ticket in town
Squiz along with consortium partners Funnelback, Verizon and Stamford Interactive – otherwise known as The Web 2.0 Alliance – recently conducted a briefing in Canberra on how Federal Government departments can efficiently enable Government 2.0 objectives. The event was held against a backdrop of increased interest by governments worldwide in leveraging the untapped potential residing in the vast volumes of public sector information and sprawling online engagement.
The Web 2.0 Alliance represents a consortium of information technology and consulting specialists that effectively encompass the Strategy, Business Analysis, User Centred Design, Search, Content Management, Software Development and Hosting requirements demanded for the efficient enablement of Government 2.0 objectives.
The briefing delivered thought leadership to over 70 attendees on the subject of Web 2.0 development which is clearly going to be a major part of the Federal Government’s IT future direction.
“It went very well,” reported Squiz Managing Director JP Syriatowicz who opened the conference. “The timing was most appropriate given that the Federal Government had released their draft Government 2.0 report the previous day. The report is important for Squiz, as it sets some very bold goals and timeframes for government. I encourage everyone to read the report.”
The Web 2.0 Alliance is available to assist all Federal Government departments with the development of any initiative designed to encourage transparent online engagement, innovation and value adding to government information. Alliance partners can be contracted on an individual basis or to work in concert depending on the individual requirements of each project.
