Squiz founder wins Entrepreneur of the Year for the Eastern Region in the Technology and Emerging Industries category

Squiz Managing Director John-Paul Syriatowicz has been recognised as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Eastern Region in the Technology and Emerging Industries category.

John-Paul is the founder of Squiz, Australia’s largest open source software developer, which was established 11 years ago. The company is the creator of MySource Matrix, described by Gartner as one of the world’s top five open source Content Management Systems (CMS).

Squiz is the leading supplier of CMS driven website, intranet, extranet and portal implementations to the Australian Federal and State Governments. Squiz is also making considerable inroads into the Corporate and Educational sectors.

The business has also experienced significant global success opening offices in the UK, New Zealand and Poland. New York is scheduled to open Q4 this year. Squiz is the first open source vendor and one of only three CMS vendors in the world to offer a true 24x7 Global Service Level Agreement.

John-Paul said he was very honoured to have won his category in the awards held by such a prestigious organisation as Ernst & Young. “Nobody succeeds in business on their own and this award really reflects the terrific team of professional staff we have at Squiz.” said John-Paul.
