Speaker Bio:
John-Paul Syriatowicz is the group Managing Director and co-founder of Squiz, the web solutions and supported open source people. John-Paul holds a B.Sc Hons 1st Class from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and was awarded the Ishtvan Tork Prize for Neuroscience.In 1995 John-Paul took the opportunity to work with Internet start-up company Cyber Sydney, subsequently using that experience to form Squiz in 1998 with business partner Stephen Barker. In 2009 John-Paul directs a company now recognised as a leader in its field, boasting some 10 offices in 5 different countries and continues to steadily expand.
Synonymous with open source and effective web solutions for over a decade, Squiz has efficiently serviced the web needs of customers worldwide with deployment of the Squiz Matrix Content Management System (CMS) and more recently the CSIRO developed Funnelback enterprise search technology.
John-Paul was acknowledged as the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur Of The Year for Technology and Emerging Industries Eastern Region 2009.

Tania's session will outline the latest in website usability
Speaker Bio:
Tania Lang is the principal of Peak Usability as well as a member of the Usability Professionals' Association, Web Industry Professionals Association and the Queensland State Representative for CHISIG in Australia. She is considered one of the leaders in her field and is passionate about usability. She has organised numerous local usability and HCI events to increase awareness and adoption of good usability and user centred design practices.
Tania has been working in the online space as a usability practitioner and consultant for a number of high profile clients for over 10 years. In that time she has worked on online projects for Telstra, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, Suncorp, Flight Centre, iiNet, RACQ and numerous Commonwealth, state and local government agencies.
Tania also has extensive experience conducting intranet usability reviews for Queensland Government including Queensland Department of Emergency Services, Treasury and Queensland Department of Housing.
She has a Masters of Business by Research which involved researching how travel consumers use the Internet. She also has a Graduate Certificate in Human Factors, a Graduate Diploma in Arts (including Marketing) and a Bachelor of Science.

Andrew is the web business manager at Edith Cowan University in Perth, as well as the current Squiz Community Advocate. At ECU his key responsibilities relate to developing, implementing
and evaluating the Universityís online systems. In the past Andrew has managed the
Universityís transition of web content from many independent systems into a
centralised Matrix Web Content Management System.
Andrew has a degree in Interactive Multimedia Technologies with extensive
experience in all aspects of web design, including programming, database
systems, server administration and management.

Ross has been active in the spatial industry for over 20 years focusing on the integration of spatial technologies into critical business solutions. Holding qualifications in both computer science and cartography, Ross has lived and worked internationally including two years in the United States building web technologies for the emergency services and telecommunication industries. Ross joined Geomatic Technologies in Melbourne in 2003 and has been responsible for a number of award winning solutions which have directly influenced how the Australian public use mapping technologies.
Ross is passionate about the latest technologies in mapping, visualisation and location based services which are changing the way enterprises analyse their operations and interact with their customers.

Manager of the Multimedia Department at the National Gallery of Victoria, Jean-Pierre Chabrol graduated from Ecole Louis Lumiere – Paris in 1990. He produced a number of awarded educational and cultural multimedia products in Europe. At the NGV since 2002, he is responsible for the development and integration of multimedia content in the Gallery.
